Our choir opened the service singing O I Want To See Him (Rufus Henry Cornelius).

After a brief announcement & welcome time by our new executive pastor, we moved into a 3 song set:

Lead Me To The Cross
The More I Seek You

I shared briefly from Jeremiah 17:7-8 before we did The More I Seek You, encouraging them to use the song to engage with God about who/what they look to as their source of peace.

The message was on Ephesians 6 and the nature of the spiritual battle we face daily.

We followed the message with Charlie Hall’s I Will Overcome. He has a couple of versions of this song. We used the one from On the Road to Beautiful as opposed to Joel’s Window. We did cut out the final bridge, though. The vocals in that section don’t lend themselves to a team, and we didn’t want to end the song with a solo.

We closed with Michael W. Smith’s arrangement of Forever by Chris Tomlin.
